The unmitigated disaster of change
Nearly 60% of Americans, 58%, now say they have little or no faith in the man who occupies the Oval Office to make the right decisions for the nation and 54% disapprove of the job he is doing. The Democratic dominated Congress has even less confidence of the American people. This according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll which also indicates that 55% of Americans believe the president is a socialist. According to a CBS News poll, 82% believe the economy is in bad shape and 86% think the president's policies have either hurt or have had no positive effect on their lives, while only 13% believe his policies have helped them.
Meanwhile, record levels of government spending have pushed the country's budget deficit over a trillion dollars with three months still to go in the fiscal year which ends September 30. AP reports many private economists are forecasting that the deficit for the entire budget year will reach $1.3 trillion, the second highest deficit on record, last year's $1.4 trillion being the all time high. The White House is forecasting that the deficit for the 2011 budget year will remain above $1 trillion for a third straight year, projecting an imbalance of $1.27 trillion. And the administration predicts the imbalances over the next decade will total $8.5 trillion. Added to the national debt of over $14 trillion, every man, woman and child's share is over $40,000.
This is reminiscent of the years of President Jimmy Carter, arguably the worst president of our lifetime, until now. Carter's policies resulted in deficits, high interest rates and double digit unemployment in many parts of the nation. Carter also advocated using energy costs to control the people, similarly to what this administration today is attempting with cap and trade. Carter was also an appeaser of terrorists as he welcomed dialogue with Palestinian Liberation Organization chief terrorist Yassir Arafat. Carter was responsible for ushering in the modern era of terrorism by helping the Ayatollah's gain power in Iran through not supporting the Shah.
But Carter, in four disastrous years, did not do as much damage to this country as the current president has in 18 months. This is a socialist takeover of America that is unprecedented. It is an attack on the very moral fiber of America from wealth redistribution to refusing to enforce immigration and election laws. This president has also mandated that America is not fighting a war on terror, nor is it fighting against Islam. The homosexual agenda has advanced unimpeded under this White House, and abortion is aided through the new socialized medicine. Proverbs 14:34 says, Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." Have you had enough change yet?
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
