Straight talk on the condition of our government

Most Americans would likely agree that there is something innately wrong with the United States government. There is an LA Times story now about how congressmen paid some $21.5 million in bonuses to their staffs at the end of 2010. I was shocked to know that these staffers even received bonuses. My office never was issued bonuses when I worked as a "Hill Staffer." But even more shocking was that congressmen who were defeated doled out an average bonus of $4,000 per staffer, while those who were reelected paid an average of $2,300. Does this not tell every American that these people we are electing to office care little about the sufferings of their countrymen, and treat hard earned tax dollars frivolously?

Earlier this week, I wrote about how the president diverted floodwaters around Cairo, Illinois, which supported him heavily in his 2008 election, and the result was that thousands of acres of farms were flooded along the Mississippi. Every state below Cairo voted for the president's opponent in 2008. Moreover, the mainstream news media hammered George Bush for the government's allegedly flawed emergency response on the Katrina disaster. They, however, have had nothing but praise for the current president as he took a break from gulping Guinness and made a mere phone call from Ireland in response to the Joplin, Missouri tornado deaths. Over 60% of the Joplin area voted for his opponent.

There is more. The Washington Examiner reports that "1,372 businesses, state and local governments, labor unions and insurers, covering 3,095,593 individuals or families," have been granted a waiver from the president's mandated health care program. The Examiner goes on to document that the majority of the waivers were granted to political supporters of the president. The story also documents many other examples, recounting the president saying to Hispanic voters that he wanted to "punish our enemies" and "reward our friends." The Examiner concludes: "They look liked examples of crony capitalism, bailout favoritism and gangster government. One thing they don't look like is the rule of law."

The Founders believed that for our form of government to be successful, we should elect only moral and religious leaders. George Washington said in his Farewell Address, "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports." We ourselves, especially those of us who call ourselves Christians, have allowed the election of these immoral and unreligious leaders. Jesus said in Matthew 7:5, "Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." You see, if we were occupying as we should, voters would know not to elect those who sin against us and our children.

The prophetic truth of Netanyahu and White House support of Islam

The prophetic truth of Netanyahu and White House support of Islam

If anything, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to the US Congress clearly exposed the side supported by the man who occupies the Oval Office. Unfortunately for Americans and Israel, its the side of evil, the side of Islam in reducing the nation of Israel to an indefensible and weak entity that can be easily overrun by the Islamists. Make no mistake, the Islamic world supported by the US president is united--Shiite and Sunni--in one thing, the destruction of Israel and America. The only way that one can side with the Islamists in the Middle East is to deny that good and evil exists and juxtapose evil for good in that denial. Netanyahu left no doubt where he stood and where the American president stands.

Netanyahu pointed out that peace agreements with Egypt and Jordan have been vital. Yet the American president's new announced policy is to destabilize these nations in favor of democratic "reform." Already, the overthrown government of Egypt, now under the power of the terrorist sponsoring Muslim Brotherhood, has made diplomatic overtures to Hamas and Hezbollah. Netanyahu reiterated the obvious: that a nuclear Iran would be "the greatest danger facing humanity." Yet this Administration in 2009 told the Jewish people that America's enthusiasm in deterring Iran's nuclear program is conditioned upon Israel's progress in establishing a Palestinian state.

But the widest and deepest chasm between this White House and Israel is in the details of conditions required for peace, where there is disagreement on every major issue. Netanyahu said that peace is not about establishing a Palestinian state, but rather about the existence of Israel. He said that the Islamic leadership must recognize the right of Israel to exist. He said there can be no so-called Palestinian refugees resettling in Israel; that Jerusalem must never again be divided and remain the "united capital of Israel"; that a Palestinian state must be demilitarized; and that Israel will not negotiate with a Palestinian government backed by Hamas, what he called "the Palestinian version of al Qaeda."

Netanyahu spoke a prophetic truth: "In Judea and Samaria, the Jewish people are not foreign occupiers...This is the land of our forefathers, the Land of Israel, to which Abraham brought the idea of one God, where David set out to confront Goliath, and where Isaiah saw a vision of eternal peace. No distortion of history can deny the four thousand year old bond, between the Jewish people and the Jewish land." The Biblical reference is Genesis 12:2,3 where the Lord says to Abram: "And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curses thee." America is in for violent waters so long as this president is at the helm.

Of Prophetic fruits and Political fruits

On August 18, 2005, Israeli settlers were forcibly removed from their homes in Gaza by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Sharon was acting under tremendous pressure from US President George W. Bush. Less than four months later Sharon suffered a stroke and remains in a coma. It was during that mid-August time frame that what would become the deadliest American hurricane in 77 years was forming. At the same time homosexuals in New Orleans were planning a large rally. Hurricane Katrina slammed into the US coast on August 25 and left some 1,836 deaths in its wake. The news media blistered Bush on his lack of response to the people who suffered and died from Katrina.

Fast forward to today. The current president has placed continued pressure on Israel to return to indefensible 1967 borders and give the rest of the land to hostile Arabs and terrorists in the name of peace. In his arrogance, he has publicly sided with Islam and Islamic revolution throughout the Middle East in making it US policy to overthrow governments there in the name of reform. As in Egypt, democracy ushered in control by the previously banned Muslim Brotherhood, another terrorist group, now supported by the White House. During this time frame, tornados and floods have covered the United States in record numbers. Floodwaters have been so deep that the Mississippi River flowed backwards.

The president, has denied federal disaster assistance to Texas. The president did not carry Texas in the 2008 election. He has diverted flood waters of the Mississippi away from Cairo, Illinois, population 2,831, by opening levees that flooded thousands of acres of farmland in states he did not carry. Cairo, in the president's home state, voted heavily for him in 2008. Now comes the disaster in Joplin, Missouri. A horrible tornado has destroyed the town of 50,150 people with another 124,000 living in the greater metropolitan areas. There have been 116 reported deaths with more expected. Only 33% of Jasper County, where Joplin is, voted for the president in 2008.

Where is the president while the midwest is suffering this horrible time of disaster, of which most there did not vote for him? He is in Ireland partying. There are two issues here: One is the very confirmable fact that every time a president pressures Israel to give up its land, there has been disaster in America. The second is that this president is partying while his nation is suffering, and those areas where people voted for him like Cairo are receiving better treatment than those who voted for his opponent (the entirety of states below Illinois along the Mississippi). Jesus told us in Matthew 7:14 about the ravening wolves in sheep's clothing. He said, "Ye shall know them by their fruits." Indeed.

Prophecy Clock Ticks Forward--US throws in with enemies of God

Prophecy Clock Ticks Forward--US throws in with enemies of God

The US president's 2009 speech in Cairo signaled a significant departure from traditional American diplomacy and subsequent White House actions have moved the prophecy clock forward. The speech was held at the Muslim Brotherhood controlled Al Azhar University and members of the banned Muslim Brotherhood were especially invited in an "in your face" diplomatic slap on US ally Hosni Mubarak. Since then, there was what appeared to be a landmark shift in foreign policy as the United States participated in the overthrow of the Egyptian government in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood--the fomenter of modern terrorist groups such as al Qaeda, Hamas, Jamma Islamiya and is allies with Hezbollah.

This signaled change now has become US policy. The president declared in his May 19 Middle East policy speech "it will be the policy of the United States to promote reform across the region, and to support transitions to democracy...In the months ahead, America must use all our influence to encourage reform in the region." Reform means revolution. Reform means that the US is going to actively support the overthrow of governments throughout the Middle East with the imperialist goal of establishing democracy. Islam will eagerly embrace democracy because it means that Sharia Law and its institutional oppression of human rights will be legitimized by the vote of Muslims--see Afghanistan, Iraq, Gaza, interim Egypt.

Billions of American taxpayer dollars and most likely the blood of our sons and daughters will be spent instigating socialist-style revolution and helping establish Islamic rule throughout the Middle East. There is no where in the US Constitution that allows a president authority to place the full forbearance of American policy behind overthrowing governments and establishing democracy around the world. This stated policy is immoral and unethical because the US will be supporting enemies of God and further draining our national wealth and treasure at a time of deep economic hardship. This alone should be an impeachable offense if only there were statesmen to force the issue by doing what is right.

Notwithstanding, the prophecy clock ticks forward with this inane policy. Many have wondered where America stands in the end times. Every single nation that is mentioned in scriptures as coming against Israel in the end is currently an Islamic nation or one with deep Islamic ties. America has traditionally stood in the breech preventing such boldness from occurring. It is now, at least under the misguided and illegal actions of this president, opening the physical door to the antichrist and his plan. While we know these events will happen as prophecy unfolds, it is better for us to overcome evil with good rather than experience the wrath of God as in Zechariah 12:9, "I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem."

White House Middle East Policy--Spirit of antichrist arises

There was so much wrong-mindedness in the speech on Middle East policy delivered by the man who occupies the Oval Office that it is difficult to know where to begin. I urge every American to read it. The president of the United States for the fist time in history has embarked on a policy that will help reestablish an Islamic Caliphate in the name of self determination; will divide and reduce Israel's sovereign land to the advantage of proven terrorists; and redirects American policy in the Middle East toward violence and upheaval--all in the name of peace and human rights. His words are ear tickling, yet dangerous as in Jeremiah 6:14 saying, "Peace, peace; when there is no peace."

He said that "it will be the policy of the United States to promote reform across the region, and to support transitions to democracy...In the months ahead, America must use all our influence to encourage reform in the region." This only means that the United States is going to support revolution by terrorists and radicals through the Muslim Brotherhood to democratically establish Sharia law--under which the human rights of no man, woman or child are guaranteed. He is committing billions of dollars of your money to do it. The immoral use of this money is scandalous, its ethics are profoundly devoid during a time when most Americans face financial hardships.

He said, "In Tahrir Square, we heard Egyptians from all walks of life chant, "Muslims, Christians, we are one." America will work to see that this spirit prevails." This spirit is one of the antichrist. Islam and Christianity are the polar opposites of one another. 2 John 7 says, "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist." We are not one. I am offended that a president of the United States who claims to be a follower of Christ would remotely imply that Islam and Christianity are of the same spirit. And of the Jews, who are not mentioned as one, he has a special plan for Israel, who all the Islamist "peace partners" say should be destroyed.

He said that Israel must revert back to its 1967 borders, stop its occupation of the West Bank and pull its security forces out of Palestinian areas. In return, the Palestinians must denounce terror and recognize Israel's right to exist. This, against a backdrop where Fatah--the moderate terrorist group America has paid billions to over the years--and Hamas, a known terrorist group that as late as last week issued a prayer call for the demise of Israel--have united to form a Palestinian government. Where the Palestinians have self rule in Gaza, they have constantly attacked Israel. This American president is traveling a dangerous path toward empowering Islam at the expense of humankind. He represents the spirit of antichrist and Christians need to have understanding that they are not deceived.

An understanding of heart for a prophetic journey

In his 20th year of captivity, Nehemiah inquired of men from Jerusalem who had escaped captivity. They told him (Nehemiah 1:3), "The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire." Nehemiah writes, "And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven." Nehemiah then turned his petition to the Lord into action. By the grace of God, he was granted permission to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem.

Those opposing Nehemiah were the enemies of God--Sanballat the Horonite, who was of Samaritan descent and a leader of the Persian Achaemenid Empire; Tobiah, an ammonite, who worshiped the false god moloch that required child sacrifices; and Geshem, the Arabian. All these men seem to portray modern principalities that oppose not only the one true God, but also represent those who are false gods, require children to die, and are of Islam. These are the very people who oppose the United States, and more directly, pure Christianity in the United States. These are the same people who today are tearing down this society. And, by our inaction, Christians are allowing it, sometimes even aiding and abetting it.

These laughed at, scorned, and despised Nehemiah, saying, "What is this thing that you do? Will you rebel against the king?" In essence, that is what the enemies of God are saying to the remnant even today. In fact, tares within Christianity will that Christians be distracted from rebuilding and restoring their families, their communities, their states, their nation. They vehemently stand against it, saying even God is in control, you have no faith if you pursue such righteousness. Or they say that it is not our right to impose our beliefs upon others--even Christians are saying these things. They ridicule those with the prophetic destiny of returning hearts toward the salt and light commandments of Jesus.

Nehemiah responds in 2:20: "Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but you have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem." And he led prayer to action and risking life and limb, rebuilt the wall even as his workers were attacked by the godless, the child sacrificers and the Arabs. I say to you today that the walls of your family, your community, your nation need rebuilding. The opposition is fierce. But the opposition has no portion, nor right, nor memorial to prevent the remnant from walking in its prophetic destiny. If you are reading this, you have been notified. You are accountable to God Almighty.

The Prophetic calling on your life

In the past few days there have been more than the usual numbers of people unsubscribing from The Daily Jot. Its not alarming, but after almost a decade of writing this column each day, I can tell what really gets to people--its usually the truth. And herein lies part of the problem. Many Christians have been filled so full of themselves by their pastors and spiritual leaders that there is no room in them for the truth of Christ and their individual prophetic destinies. Therefore, when someone says that you are not getting the job done, that you are too busy with yourself to see that your community and your nation are falling apart, there is a vitriolic reaction that takes place against that type of accountability.

Many have written asking what to do. Traditionally, I have taken the position that the Lord will tell you. But that does not seem to be enough for some people who want more specifics. Others are doing everything they know, but its not working. Again, the answer is found in the Lord. Others will say that prayer is the only answer. If prayer was the only answer, then why are there numerous accounts in the Bible where prayer started the movement and action finished it? Still others say that by exhorting the saints to action, I am getting in the way of God's judgement on this nation for turning its back on him. Far be it from me, a mere human, to stand in the way of God and his righteous judgment.

But if God is judging this nation, who in particular is under judgment? If we are to believe the Holy Scriptures, and I do, and 1 Peter 4:17 says, "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"...then it is those who follow the Lord who first come under judgment. You see, if our nation is being judged because we have turned our backs on the Lord, who is it that did the turning? The unbelievers? No. It is the believers. By our self indulgence in the strange doctrines of man and buying into the secular humanism of the world around us, we collectively have been instrumental in the decline of our society.

It is your responsibility. It is my responsibility. Jesus said, "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men." He said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." You have a prophetic calling on your life. Jesus says so. And it is not to become self indulged with feel good stuff. It is to be salt and light. And when the wall around Jerusalem needed rebuilt, the remnant dropped what it was doing and rebuilt it. Our nation has crumbled around us. It is our responsibility as Christians to repent, regroup and rebuild.

Your reasonable service--A new era of civic responsibility

The headlines today are amazing: Hamas PM: Pray for an end to Israel; Ahmadinejad could become president of OPEC; Iran building rocket bases in Venezuela; IMF Chief held without bail in rape case; Treasury raids pensions to service US debt; US borrows $58,000 a second; Scientists cast doubt on TSA safety claims of full body scanners; China selling Treasury holdings for fifth consecutive month; and there are more. Hamas is the White House's new negotiating partner in Israeli peace; Iran is building a nuclear weapon to use against America and Israel; The IMF controls the world's money policy; The US is going bankrupt; and the government lies about safety.

Trust in the Federal government is at a low as 58% of Americans believe the federal government has too much power, according to a Gallup poll taken the last week of March. A Gallup poll taken in March 2009 indicated that 55% of Americans believed the biggest threat to the country in the future was big government. Gallup's poll taken in January indicated that 56% of Americans were somewhat or very dissatisfied with how well the government works. An ABC News/Washington Post poll taken in January 2010 indicated that 58% of Americans favor smaller government with fewer services, this is up some 24% from 2008.

Do these headlines constitute a trend? Of course they do. The trend is that the United States Government is out of control and the events facing the American people every day are so overwhelming that they cannot focus on one problem let alone dozens. Americans are so busy with keeping their families in order, keeping a roof over their heads, meals on the table and fuel in the tank that they are not able to focus on their civic responsibility. They have left the obligation to hirelings, who have pillaged our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Many will say, this is God's judgment. Know this: that God's judgment is a result of his people's actions. And God's mercy is also a result of his people's actions.

Romans 12:1,2 says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." We are fast approaching the time in the country where Christians are going to lose their very freedoms to an overwhelming and overpowering government. We must exercise our reasonable service. The will of God in our lives requires action in making disciples. And if we were doing this one thing, our countrymen would be renewed, and held accountable, and our nation restored.

Clarity: White House Middle East Policy and its prophetic consequences

The past weekend gave the world an exacting picture of the peace of a Palestinian state dividing Israel. Violent Islamist mobs in the thousands, who have been educated since birth to hate Jews and Israel, stormed across Israel's borders with Gaza, Lebanon and Syria. These terrorists were attacking Israel on Nakba Day, meaning the day of "the catastrophe"--May 14, 1948, when Israel once again officially became a nation. There never has been any evidence to believe that Islamist want peace with Israel, but rather that Israel be destroyed. It is institutionalized in the education of their children and manifest in every violent action, yet the United States persists in helping the terrorists to form a Palestinian state.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "We are determined to defend our borders and our sovereignty... It is important to note that these events are happening on the anniversary of the establishment of Israel. As the leaders of these violent acts themselves say-their battle is not for the 1967 lines, but rather, against Israel's existence, as they see that day as a disaster which must be rectified." As the skirmishes raged, Hamas and Fatah began meetings in Egypt to form a new government under which the White House is hopeful will rule over a new Palestinian state. Both Fatah and Hamas are terrorist organizations. Fatah oversees the Palestinian Authority which has received billions from America.

Egypt, whose government was overthrown at the urging of the White House to promote "democracy", has become increasingly radical. The White House's new Middle East strategic partner, the Muslim Brotherhood, has been tightening its grip in forming the new government. Already there are increasing reports that Egypt is aligning with the terrorist axis of Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and Iran. As an indicator of how the Middle East is moving toward even more radicalization, reports of Christian persecution, beheadings, church burnings and murders have been on the rise in Egypt and Iraq since the White House has been promoting the replacement of stable rulers with democracy.

US support of democracy in the Middle East has disastrous impact. Front Page Magazine, for example, reports that the "democratic" government of Iraq enables and incites the persecution of Christians. FPM says that In the Arab/Muslim world, "majority rule" traditionally means Islamist domination, with the indigenous Christians being the first to suffer once the genie of "people-power" is uncorked. Just imagine the US forcing a Palestinian state dividing Israel into two pieces, as is planned. The Lord says in Genesis 12:3 of Israel, "I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curses thee." As this White House presses on behalf of the terrorists, there will be more facing Americans than the Mississippi flowing backwards.

What is Land worth to God?

The Daily Jot

What is land worth to God?

In Genesis 12:2, 3, the LORD says to Abram, "And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." This is the Abrahamic covenant that established the seed of Abraham, eventually to become the nation of Israel. And to this day, those nations that bless Israel receive blessing and those nations that curse Israel are cursed. America has been a nation that supports Israel from its very modern and prophetic establishment on May 14, 1948, but in recent years has fallen away from its traditional support.

The United States for most of its very existence has been a blessed nation. Our abundant freedom as a nation comprised mainly of Christians has led to tremendous advances in technology, food production, economic and military power and the gospel being preached around the world. In the past 10 years, however, America has found itself embroiled in many wars, the worst financial condition in history, devastated by natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornados and floods, and the Islamic war against everything American. These things began in ernest when American presidents such as George W Bush and the current occupier of the White House started talking about carving a Palestinian state out of Israel's land.

This Administration and Congress are the first to actually try to force Israel to divide its land into two pieces, allowing a so-called "Palestinian State." White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel told the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee meeting on May 5, 2009, "Israel now faces a moment of truth--it can either acquiesce to international demands and in return have its most serious threats dealt with, or maintain the status quo and have those threats persist." Emanuel was saying that the White House would ignore Iran's nuclear threat, if Israel did not buckle to demands over a Palestinian state. Since then, there has been nothing but extreme pressure placed on Israel to divide its land to terrorists.

The White House is continuing its pressure despite the recent developments where its Palestinian negotiation partner, Fatah, has untied with the terrorist group Hamas to establish a Palestinian state. So long as Americans allow their leaders to come against Israel, there will be increased financial and natural disasters cursing America. People ask what of the Islamic countries, they do not appear cursed. Try living under the bondage and poverty of Sharia law and then determine what is a curse. In Joel 3:2, the Lord says, "I will also gather all nations...and will pronounce sentence on them there for my people and my heritage Israel, whom they scattered among the nations, and divided my land." O how the deeds of men bring destruction to nations.

Bondage or Obedience

This government is more out of control every day. As a Christian American, I am mindful that our freedoms are taken lightly by a ruling class that out of one side of its mouth says it is Christian and out of the other side gives orders that satisfy the prince of darkness. Trouble is, the Church as we know it in the United States, does not want to take a stand for what is truly right. Oh, yes, there are a whole lot of teachings from the pulpit about self improvement, personal this and that, asking God to be all that you can be. But there is not a lot about doing what God wants you to do. Jesus says in Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Somewhere along the line, hopefully before you are well into the path of starvation, homelessness, slavery, or other persecutions, the collective Church might ask, "What am I doing here?" Those things that the Lord said would be added unto you are not riches in the material sense. Christ didn't even have a pillow upon which to lay his head. Those things to be added are food, drink, clothing--the essentials in life for which your heavenly Father knows of your needs. Are we so busy attaining the goals of secular humanism as Christians, that we no longer have an appetite, let alone a stomach, for civic responsibility? Did not Christ command us to make disciples? This requires civic interaction on his behalf.

When you throw a rock in a still pond, it creates ripples across the pond. The bigger the rock, the bigger and longer the ripples. One small rock can affect a very large pond. God has blessed us with a tremendous nation. And as Christians we are grafted in to the promise of Abraham. Being salt and light to our families and communities impacts the nation, especially when we all are obedient. I do not believe for one second that if we as Christians were operating the way that Christ commanded that one single leader of our nation would be out of step with the underpinnings of the Holy Scriptures. There would be separation of church and state, but not separation of spirit and soul.

If we were doing what Christ told us to do right here in our neighborhoods, there would be a ripple effect felt all the way to Washington, and beyond the shores of our great nation. Allowing satan to render you paralyzed because of your "wants" or because the preacher is telling you God wants you to be all you can be is tantamount to disobedience and idol worship. God wants you to be what He wants you to be, not all that you want to be. 1 Samuel 15:22 says, "Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams." Will it take falling into total physical bondage and persecution the likes we have never seen to bring us out of our self indulgence? Can we not begin today making a difference in the name of Jesus to others, thus overcoming the evil in our nation with good?

Carrying the Government's Trojan Horse in your pocket

The Federal government, including the office of the President, will know where you are at all times and be able to send you messages via your cell phone. In fact, you will be forced to receive these messages. The system is the brainchild of Homeland Security, the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The stated purpose of the system is to alert citizens of possible terrorist attacks or natural disasters in the immediate area of the location of the cell phone. In other words, the government is going to be in constant contact with every cell phone. The system is rolling out in New York and Washington, DC before the end of the year, then to the rest of the country.

Your cell phone will be used as the government's tool to make sure you are a well informed citizen. You will receive information about terrorist attacks and impending natural disasters, as well as Amber Alerts on missing children. All these messages will take priority over all other phone traffic on your phone. You will have no authority to "opt out." The system, called PLAN, or Personal Localized Alerting Network, will also blast urgent messages from the president directly to your cellphone. It will cost you $9.1 billion to implement this invasion of privacy, being sold as a way to save lives. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg hailed the alerts as a "quantum leap forward in using technology to help keep people safe."

The FEMA website is telling Americans that they do not even have to sign up for this program. That participation of their wireless provider--and all of them are complying. FEMA says a PLAN alert will have its own special signal and vibration. FEMA says that the system "allows" cell phone customers to receive "geographically-targeted, text-like messages alerting them of imminent threats to safety in their areas." It does not say in the material that consumers are forced to take these messages, but the news conferences announcing the PLAN confirmed that there is no opt out. The government, therefore, has control of your privately purchased cell phone and the cell phone plan for which you personally are paying.

Daniel 12:4 says, "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." Certainly, we are living in an age of increased knowledge. And a lot of your personal information is knowledge in the wrong hands. A FEMA spokesman would not confirm nor deny that their is no opt out on PLAN. He told The Daily Jot that more information would be forthcoming. Sprint said it was not aware that the government could override its text blocking application, but is checking into it. While it may be good to receive emergency information, it should be the choice of the owner of the device, not compulsory by the Federal government.

It is your land, take it

I was at the gas pump yesterday, filling up my car with $3.99 a gallon gasoline (that's after the grocery store discount points were applied). The guy across the pump was doing the same. I asked him if he had taken out his loan to fill his tank. He replied that he couldn't even fill his tank because the pump shuts off at $75. I told him that we needed to change some things at the ballot box; that we needed leaders who would not just talk about the problems, but also solve them. He thought for a minute and said that I was right and we moved on to what we were doing. This is an example of how to start a revolution. We need to talk to our fellow Americans and get them thinking about what is right.

Did you know that the average American household is now spending 9% of its budget on gasoline? According to the Oil Price Information Service, American households are spending from 2% (where mass transit is readily available) to 14% of their income on gasoline. Gasoline excise taxes vary from state to state, but state governments are charging from 8 cents in Alaska to 37.5 cents a gallon in Washington, with the average appearing to be in the 22 cents per gallon range. The cost of gasoline impacts everything--food prices (which have risen some 30%), goods and services, heating and electric, even the cost of government. But are our leaders doing anything but talking about it?

The Administration refuses to allow drilling for oil opting for very long term research and development of often pie in the sky "green" energy solutions. Oil company executive are being investigated for price gouging, but this does not increase the supply of badly needed energy. Congress appears to be so worried about reelection that neither Republicans nor Democrats offer any hope for a workable solution beyond rhetoric. If words could change physical events, the hot air do nothings that have been elected by the American people would be the most successful leaders on earth. But all that is being done is deception. If you keep talking about it and rearranging the debate, people think something is being done.

That is, until it is too late. The national debt is growing by more than a million dollars every two minutes. As it stands today, every American citizen's portion of the national debt is $46,020. When does it end? It doesn't unless you do something about it. All law is based on the Bible. If it is not in harmony with the Bible, it is not a good law. When government, such as ours, through its laws and policies covets not only our belongings and earnings, but also our very futures, it is an unjust government. God blessed us with a nation where our voice counts. Psalm 119:1 says, "Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord." Verse 6 says, "Then shall I not be ashamed when I have respect unto all thy commandments." I challenge you this day to speak up.

Which story do you believe?--bin Laden accountability

Which story do you believe?--bin Laden accountability

There are so many stories out there about the killing of Osama bin Laden that it is difficult to know what to believe. First, the story that there was a 40 minute firefight with bin Laden's protectors putting up resistance and bin Laden hiding behind one of his wives to keep from getting shot. Then there was the story that there was no resistance and that he didn't hide behind his wife, but rather another woman. Then there was the story that there was no resistance except for several women who were getting in the way of the SEALS when they were searching the compound for bin Laden. And now the story that only one guy had a gun and resisted.

To a casual observer, a conclusion could be made that events were happening so fast and furious once the SEALS entered the compound that stories from different viewpoints abound. All these things could have happened. But the strangeness comes in when these are elements of the story that have been released a day at a time since the White House announcement that bin Laden had been assassinated. And the stories are coming from the same source: the White House and its Administration. And since the event, there have been repeated stories about photos being released and photos bought by news agencies, but the White House has refused to date to release the ones they have.

On May 2, there was a photo released by the White House that shows the president along with 14 members of his staff watching the SEAL Team 6 attack on the bin Laden compound. One can see the intensity in their eyes in the anxious moment that the photo was taken. The president is leaning forward eyes intent on the screen. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's right hand is covering her mouth as her eyes are focused on the drama. Vice President Joe Biden's head is tilted and his facial expression tense. Others are standing with arms crossed or nearly at attention as they watch the drama unfold. How then, if these people were watching this event first hand, are there so many variations of stories?

Most likely bin Laden is dead. The details of how and when he was killed are obscured from the public unless the public chooses to believe the White House story. But which story should the public believe? There are as many stories as there are days since the alleged killing. At a time when the American public has been subjected to a doctrine found in the warning of 2 Timothy 3:13, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived," knowing what to believe is almost impossible. The truth appears to be a rolling target. The deeper problem is that our elected officials are making virtually no effort to hold this White House accountable. Will "We the People" do so?

Presidential National Prayer Proclamation: No one true God

In recent weeks there have been a record number of tornados leaving death and destruction in their wake across the American landscape. Floods in the South are so harsh and deep that tributaries along the Mississippi River are flowing backwards. These are historic phenomena according to the experts, who have no real explanation other than the wrath of Mother Nature. It seems that she must be pretty angry, many of them joke. Unfortunately, its not a joke to lose all you have in a flood or tornado, including your life. In centuries past, when such things would occur, entire communities would come before the Lord and ask forgiveness and repent for the wrongs in their lives.

Nowadays, people just turn the channel, or go shopping, or blame global warming. There are severe problems that we face as Americans. But unlike our fathers before us, this generation is stiff necked enough to think it can explain these things away scientifically or mathematically, and in doing so believe they have understanding and that the problem is solved. Indeed, people perish due to lack of knowledge. But the knowledge they lack is more spiritual than of the sciences. And the time spent researching on the Internet to determine cause and effect can never replace the knowledge and understanding of a personal relationship with the Creator of the Universe.

Today is National Day of Prayer. The presidential proclamation says, "Let us be thankful for the liberty that allows people of all faiths to worship or not worship according to the dictates of their conscience, and let us be thankful for the many other freedoms and blessings that we often take for granted." It goes on to "remember" those impacted by the natural disasters and the men and women serving in the armed forces. It concludes: "I invite all citizens of our Nation, as their own faith or conscience directs them, to join me in giving thanks for the many blessings we enjoy, and I ask all people of faith to join me in asking God for guidance, mercy, and protection for our Nation."

And herein lies one of the problems: Our own leader does not recognize that this is not about all faiths and some nebulous god that is a product of the "dictates of our conscience." There is only one true God. And if we as a nation are praying to false gods, we are not making the connection. Joshua 24:20 says, "If you forsake the Lord, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good." We as a nation, must get back on track. As did Joshua of the ancient days, let the challenge go forth that in all you do this day be a witness for putting away strange gods and inclining hearts toward the one true God.

Now is the time to strike

The man who occupies the Oval Office and his political advisors were hoping for a big boost in popularity with the Osama bin Laden news. In announcing the death of bin Laden, the president took every bit of credit he could without appearing as if he were the one who fired the shots. He said, "...I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice. Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. A small team of Americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability...After a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body."

Recent polls suggest that the president's approval rating, in the negatives, remained the same. For example, a Rasmussen poll showed that 37% of Americans strongly disapprove of the president, while only 24% strongly approve of the job he is doing. This is a minus 13 approval differential. And his overall approval is at 48% according to Rasmussen. In my political days, we knew that if an opponent, especially an incumbent, fell below 50% approval, he was in deep trouble. It would appear that Americans are very skeptical about this president and his Administration. It would appear that public opinion has moved from a cautious attitude toward this White House to one of cynicism and skepticism.

Yet in the wake of these numbers and increasing numbers of Americans expressing distrust with this administration, there has been no proof offered of bin Laden's killing. This Administration also took four years to "release" the president's birth certificate, which has been regarded as a fake by numerous forensic experts. A large number of Americans still do not believe that he is Constitutionally eligible to hold the office. As the days unfold, the president still has not released proof positive of the bin Laden operation. His advisors do not want to release pictures, fearing the peaceful Muslim religion will retaliate with a vengeance. How brave they are until they have to provide the world with their evidence.

Americans by and large no longer have confidence that their government is telling the truth. Too many "spins" have accumulated over the years. The Lord is giving the Christian community, who knows the truth, an opportunity to reestablish truth and accountability in the American government. It is time to strike with the full force of accountability through righteousness. As Paul wrote in Romans 13:12, "The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light." We must stand on what we know is right. We must speak boldly as we ought to speak. We must overcome evil with good. The citizens of this country are ready to listen.

The Great Conspiracy

The Daily Jot

The Great Conspiracy

The overwhelming response to the last Jot was that the news about bin Laden was unbelievable. In short, people do not believe this Administration. First, it was a four year journey to get the president to release his birth certificate. Upon its release, forensic experts on the internet say it has been photoshopped--its a fake. Even with my limited knowledge of PDF files, I saw that something was wrong with it as it appeared to be built in layers. Then after nearly ten years, bin Laden is found and killed. The body being disposed of before the DNA tests are returned. I cannot tell you how many emails I have received from Daily Jot readers who believe the bin Laden death was staged.

The problem here is not whether bin Laden's death was staged. Neither is it that the birth certificate could be another forgery. The problem is that many Americans, many good Americans, many wonderful Christians, do not have confidence in their government, that an event such as the killing of the most wanted terrorist in the world would be considered some sort of conspiracy. Questions abound as to why was the body disposed of; why wasn't more care taken to bring him in alive; how is it that the most wanted man in the world gets away with living high in a mansion in Pakistan when there are so few of them? These questions all lead to a multitude of conspiracy theories.

I believe that the birth certificate, that the bin Laden death, that the run up on American debt and the destruction of our economy are most definitely the result of multiple conspiracies in that there is one conspirator who Jesus identified in John 10:10, "The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy." That thief and chief conspirator is none other than satan. His evil plans come to fruition through the evil in men's hearts. We need to take care to choose our leaders wisely. We need to make sure that we are choosing godly men and women to lead us. And we need to hold these people accountable according to the scriptures.

There are many people delighted that bin Laden is presumably dead. There are others who do not believe that he is dead. Still there are others who do not believe that bin Laden was behind the 911 attacks. And still others who believe America's own government staged 911 for some other conspiratorial reasons. Whatever you believe, this nation cannot survive, our people cannot survive, your family and heritage cannot survive if you as a Christian do not make a concerted and deliberate effort to do as Christ commanded. If we are not letting our light so shine before men, making disciples, keeping accountability among ourselves and our leaders, then the great conspirator wins. Focus my brothers and sisters, focus.

Prophetic Possibilities in wake of bin Laden's death

May 1 will go down as a very powerful day in American history. After nearly a decade of hunting the "principality of Persia" for the mastermind of the 911 attacks and head of al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden is dead and buried. He was buried at sea so that Muslims would not have a body to commemorate and rally around. The man who occupies the Oval Office announced the death of bin Laden, and of course, took complete credit for the killing, while giving some praise to American troops who actually carried out the operation Pakistan. Politics aside, Americans should rejoice that an enemy of the Republic and murderer of innocent men, women and children is dead.

Bin Laden and his entourage, in the hallmark cowardly fashion of Islamic terrorists, tried to hide behind a woman as a shield before a US Navy Seal shot him in the head. The long awaited departure of this antichrist spirit will undoubtedly spur the Islamic world into a frenzy against the United States and Israel. And we as Americans must keep in mind that cutting off the head of this beast does not end its danger against mankind. Government officials have issued a warning to Americans to be particularly aware of activity around all mosques and Islamic centers, as the FOX News reporter said, "for obvious reasons." There are tremendous spiritual implications for the removal of bin Laden.

Daniel received a vision on the banks of the Hidekel river. The Lord's messenger was delayed 21 days by the "spiritual" prince of Persia, before he could reach Daniel with an interpretation. The watershed of the Hidekel river includes Turkey, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Kuwait. The Neo-Persian empire extended throughout the Middle East with the exception of Saudi Arabia--the birthplace of bin Laden. Bin Laden represented and led the forces of Islamic evil on earth throughout this principality. While America's president has turned a blind eye toward al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood in revolt across the Middle East, he can claim credit for killing bin Laden, which will embolden the principality.

Osama bin Laden perhaps has been sacrificed for the greater good of Islam. As he is martyred and the demonic spirits stirred in the wake of his death, a type and shadow of the Revelation 13:3 prophecy about the beast that rose from the sea comes to mind: "And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast." One of the heads of the beast of Islam has been dealt a death blow and was put to burial in the sea. bin Laden was an inspiration to this beast while he was alive, and he is even more so now that he has achieved Islamic martyrdom. The world will wonder as this beast will arise with greater force in the name of peace, unity and death. And you may be surprised at who is in league with it.
