Can America Survive?

Can America Survive?

I have been asked the question, can America survive? I believe the answer is "Yes" if we as Christians do what God has commanded us to do. We have a civic obligation to our nation, for God loves the nations and judges the nations just as he loves the people and judges the people in them. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19, 20: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." A friend of mine has said that we have a spiritual problem here in America that we are trying to solve with a political solution. The solution is also spiritual.

In Mark 16:15 Jesus says, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." And before Jesus ascended to heaven, His last words to those in witness were "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." The message is very clear--that we need to be making disciples and being witnesses of Jesus to all. Its our civic duty to our fellow man, and our obligation unto God. We must ask ourselves, 'Are we living in the reality of the world or in the reality of Jesus Christ?'

Jesus tells us the parable of the nobleman who was to go far away to receive a kingdom and return. Jesus says in Luke 19:13, "Occupy till I come." "Occupy" here means "to busy oneself with." We truly are to be about the Lord's business until his return. You see, just as Nehemiah was called to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, we are called to rebuild this nation. If God's people do not do it, it will not be done. If your house was crumbling around its foundation, you would not sit inside it and do nothing till it fell down around your ears, leaving you without shelter and protection. You would rebuild it. Just as judgment begins in the house of the Lord, so too, must the rebuilding of our nation because as the people are rebuilt so, too, will the nation follow.

Yes, we have enemies, just as Nehemiah did. There are communists; there are Islamists; there are those who hate God. And because Christians have been so absorbed by self indulgent, extra-biblical and emotional doctrines, the voices of the enemies of God, the enemies of our state, have become like clanging cymbals overpowering our society. But you know our greatest enemy?--Christian apathy is our greatest enemy. If we were doing the business of the Lord. If we were being salt and light. If we were speaking truth. If we were not of the world. If we were touching souls with the love of Christ, our nation would not be in the shape it is in. Let us reach out with the love of Christ and make a difference in our nation.

Suspension of Disbelief

Suspension of Disbelief

When I first started writing The Daily Jot in January 2002 there was probably about one prophetic-related event per month reported in the news. Not long, that was stepped up to about one per week. Then one per day. Now there are several per day to choose from in writing this daily column. Many readers write me emails about how they view the prophetic events of our time. Some are frightened. Some are accepting. Some embrace them because they know that they are living in a time when the Lord will return. Others are angry that anyone dare say that the signs of the times are related to God's Holy word. And many just push the "unsubscribe" button at the end of this message because they don't want to hear it or they think I'm nuts.

We are doing a Bible study on Revelation with a small group from our church. We are in awe by how news events are tracking with end times prophecy. And we often discuss how seeing the things that are happening before us are difficult to believe, even though you are witnessing them first hand. It is almost surreal to see how leadership in the United States, for example, is positioning the world for the anti-Christ through promoting Islam at the expense of Israel. It is difficult to believe that America is facing record debt, increased immorality, harsh natural disasters, political unrest and economic calamity--all at the same time our leadership is pressuring Israel to give up its land to radical terrorists dressed in suits.

It is difficult to fathom, but these things and many more are happening before our very eyes. There is a term in the literary world that has expanded to the entertainment industry called Suspension of Disbelief. Suspension of Disbelief requires that you accept or are required to believe something that you would never accept in reality. In entertainment or literature Suspension of Disbelief is a semi-conscious decision in which one puts aside disbelief to accept the premise as being real. For example, you must suspend your disbelief to be able to digest or internalize that an elected American leader would intentionally be destructive to the nation--as happened in the series 24 or the movie The Manchurian Candidate.

With prophetic events, imagine how you would have to suspend your disbelief to be able to digest a meteor hitting the earth and killing a third of the fish and destroying a third of the ships at sea. There was an earthquake in the Washington, DC area a few weeks ago. My office was wobbling. My desk acted as if it were rubber. My mind had to suspend my disbelief to understand to get to safety. My question is how much Suspension of Disbelief will people need to believe the prophecies of the Bible are occurring when they occur? How much Suspension of Disbelief does it take to understand the current calamity of the United States in view of the simple prophecy found in Genesis 12:3 regarding Israel: "I will bless them that blesses thee and curse him that curses thee."?

Of Imperialism and Democracy

I recently saw an article calling the American foreign policy thrust over the past decade "imperialism." Usually, these are the words of anti-American trouble makers, but this article was from a more well respected columnist that caught my attention. He was writing what I have been thinking for quite some time. The point that the United States has "garrisons" spread throughout the world, especially in the Middle East is just one telltale sign. Its one thing to respond to an enemy's attack on your own soil, its still another to consistently binge on spreading democracy and spend taxpayer money to build nations, especially when those nations have no intention of being democratic or westernized civilizations.

Our leaders promote democracy saying that it brings peace and stability to a nation. They say that democracies are nations that get along with the rest of the world through trade and cultural exchange. Nice idea. But George Washington looked at nation building a bit differently as indicated in his farewell speech. He said, "...a passionate attachment of one nation for another produces a variety of evils. Sympathy for the favorite nation, facilitating the illusion of an imaginary common interest in cases where no real common interest exists, and infusing into one the enmities of the other, betrays the former into a participation in the quarrels and wars of the latter without adequate inducement or justification."

Washington had a simple approach to foreign policy: "Observe good faith and justice towards all nations; cultivate peace and harmony with all. Religion and morality enjoin this conduct; and can it be, that good policy does not equally enjoin it - It will be worthy of a free, enlightened, and at no distant period, a great nation, to give to mankind the magnanimous and too novel example of a people always guided by an exalted justice and benevolence. Who can doubt that, in the course of time and things, the fruits of such a plan would richly repay any temporary advantages which might be lost by a steady adherence to it? Can it be that Providence has not connected the permanent felicity of a nation with its virtue?"

Washington saw a clear connection between God and country. He said that both foreign influence by nations on America and undue influence by America on foreign nations was a bad thing. He seemed to follow the rule expressed by Jesus Christ in Luke 6:31"And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise." Good faith and justice towards all nations, cultivating peace and harmony does not mean overthrowing governments and establishing Islamic Sharia Law through a vote called democracy. And it surely is not doing on to men as you would have them do to you--who but a tyrant would wish Sharia Law unto a people? Our nation needs repentance for the deeds of our leaders and our part in electing them. Its not a political party thing, its an obedience to God thing.

The deeper meaning of US leaving Iraq

The deeper meaning of US leaving Iraq

The announcement that the United States would pull all of its troops out of Iraq by year's end seemed to be a surprise announcement from the White House. There were debates throughout the summer between the US and Iraq over troop presence in the country. Finally, there was an impasse over the demand that US troops must be exempt from Iraqi law if they were to stay. The Iraq government would not budge, demanding that America's servicemen and women be subject to Iraqi law. Bottom line, with negotiations at an impasse, the president announced that aside from the troops needed to protect the American embassy, America was pulling out by the end of the year. But, as usual, there is more to the story.

According to an article in the Vancouver Sun, neither the president nor the vice president had any contact with the Iraqi Prime minister for nearly a year. Logs released by the US Embassy in Baghdad indicate that there was no contact by the US president since February 13 and the last contact by the vice president was January 18. All the while this deal regarding the American troops in Iraq was looming, with military advisors saying there is a need for agreement that American strategic interests would be served in this volatile region, the man who occupies the Oval Office didn't pick up the phone to call his Iraqi counterpart.

While troops coming home from Iraq is a relief to many Americans, how the process is managed is likely of concern to every American. Iran has had Iraq in its crosshairs for more than two decades. Iran was supplying weapons and commandos to fight against American troops there. America has invested billions over the past decade as well as nearly 4,500 US soldiers killed and well over 33,000 wounded. To pull out without a plan risks Iraq at the hands of Iran and having spilled American blood in vain. It would seem that the effort would warrant more than a phone call by the president to the Prime Minister saying we are pulling up stakes and leaving by the end of the year.

There are many scenarios that could be read into these unusual actions by the president. From a prophetic point of view, watchmen see that Arab Spring is not about democracy, but rather using democracy as the mask to establish Islam and Sharia law. Mask removed, Sharia is the standard bearer for law and justice and Islam is the official religion. This is true in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and even in Gaza. This means that the enemies of Israel are further encroaching on Israel as legitimized by democracy and in the name of peace. An abrupt US pull out of Iraq signals to Iran that the nation is up for grabs, further advancing Islam and Sharia. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Deception is in the Arab Spring air.

On the lighter side...

When the Denver Broncos announced during their bye week that Tim Tebow would be the new starting quarterback, I said a little prayer for him. I have kept an eye on all the news stories about how Tebow can't play in the NFL; that his decision-making is not good enough; that his quarterback mechanics are too awkward; that he just doesn't have it. And I wonder aloud if all the criticism of Tebow is because of his ability or because he is a strong Christian man. I have seen other quarterbacks who have fundamental problems who make it in the NFL, the critiques of them are not as harsh. But then again, if they are Christians, nobody knows about it. With Tebow, it is a different story.

Think about this: According to Bloomberg last September, Tebow set a record for rookie jersey sales, by a long shot. Bloomberg's Eric Matuszewski wrote, "While the league doesn't disclose sales totals, the former University of Florida quarterback logged the most jersey orders since 2006, the first year NFLShop.com joined with GSI Commerce Inc. to expand its online store. Tebow's sales totals eclipsed the previous draft-weekend record of Sanchez, who in 2009 was the first quarterback taken by the Jets with a top-five pick since Joe Namath." Even though the analysts and the announcers are highly critical of Tebow, he has something that causes people to take notice.

I believe that "something" is his uncompromising faith. Here he is last week down 15-0 with a little over five minutes left in the game. All the announcers are bemoaning his incompetence as an NFL quarterback. Then something clicks and he leads his team to an overtime victory. Tebow gives God the glory. He appears to me to be humble, yet strong in his faith. And from all I have heard, his teammates love him, he elevates those around him. With all the criticism leveled at him, he stays positive and his responses to the media are always upbeat, non critical of his detractors. For a young man just out of college, he is under a lot of pressure. Yet, to date, he has handled it all like a true Christian man.

People ask me every day what they can do to make a difference in this country. We are tired of the politics, the scandals, the ripping apart of our national heritage of God, family and country. Jesus said in Matthew 10:33, "But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." As Christians we have a calling on our lives to preach the gospel to every creature; to be salt and light to a dark and dying world. Tim Tebow is an example of how we can do that. We need to be men and women of faith, knowing the right thing to do and doing it. If we could all just do that every day, those around us would eventually see the light.

Prophetic Clock Ticks: The White House's Islamic Revolution

Prophetic Clock Ticks: The White House's Islamic Revolution

The man who occupies the Oval Office has claimed victory in Libya, spending about a billion dollars of taxpayer money to topple the Gadhafi regime and replace it with Islamic fundamentalism. The president also praised the people of Tunisia for holding democratic elections after yet another US-supported overthrow of a government. The Islamist party Ennahda is expected to win the most votes according to the BBC. The president announced an end to the Iraq War, at the same time Iran is stepping up its efforts to increase its influence over the country. Additionally, tensions with Syria are mounting, after the US ambassador there was currying favor with revolutionaries against the Assad regime.

Already things in Libya are going against what was billed to the American people. Some 53 decomposing bodies were found in Gadhafi's hometown. The New York-based Human Rights Watch surmises that these people were executed by the American-supported revolutionary forces because they were supporters of Gadhafi. This is a picture of democracy Islam-style. The UK Telegraph reports "Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, the chairman of the National Transitional Council and de fact president, had already declared that Libyan laws in future would have Sharia, the Islamic code, as its "basic source". He already has reinstated polygamy and banned interest charged to Muslims by banks--all in line with Sharia.

The Jerusalem Post reports the Ennahda Party in Tunisia had been previously banned. The Ennahda is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. While Western journalists describe the party as moderate, its leadership seeks to establish Sharia Law and has promoted terrorism with its members bombing four tourist hotels in the 1980's and calling for attacks on US interests in the Middle East for America's invasion of Iraq. The leader of Ennahda referred to Islamic banking and finance, and Islamic family law being applied in Great Britain as the example of Sharia the party wanted to establish in Tunisia. In February, Ennahda Party members converged on Jewish Synagogues shouting "Allahu akbar."

The White House is amazingly moving the prophecy clock ahead by boosting radical Islam in the name of democracy. The abrupt pullout from Iraq opens the door to Iran. The regimes in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya will be replaced by Islamic power. The White House continues to pressure Israel to cut the nation into two pieces and give up part of Jerusalem to terrorists dressed in suits. Never before in history has America so blatantly supported Islam. The prophetic clock ticks forward with each day. Zechariah 12:3 says, "And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it."

President claims victory; but for evil or good?

President claims victory; but for evil or good?

The life of a brutal dictator and sponsor of terrorism has come to an end. Muammar Gaddafi was killed by his own countrymen. Now Libya is free, right? Not so fast. The National Transition Council is comprised of al Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood and other terror groups who seek to establish Sharia as the rule of law and Islam as the official and only religion in Libya. Its in their Constitution. America, at the sole direction of its president, has spent nearly a billion taxpayer dollars to help al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood establish yet another radical Islamic state in the name of democracy, self determination. And your tax dollars has paid for a lot of it.

What's more, the president encouraged revolutionaries around the Middle East and warned other dictators that they could be next. He said, "For the region, today's events prove once more that the rule with an iron fist inevitably comes to an end. Across the Arab world citizens have stood up to claim their rights. Youth are delivering a powerful rebuke to dictatorship. And those leaders who try to deny their human dignity will not succeed." The president has been consistent in helping revolutionaries overthrow governments in the Middle East--Egypt, Libya--others are in the making. These governments are not replaced with freedom, but rather with Islamic Constitutions ruled by Sharia Law and Islam as the official religion.

This White House has made the world a far more dangerous place. The more power Islam has, as it seizes nation after nation, the closer it is to the return of the last world order of the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire was an Islamic Caliphate that ruled most of the former Roman Empire until 1924. The Muslim Brotherhood, the White House ally in Egypt and Libya, calls for a reestablishment of the Caliphate and worldwide submission to Sharia Law. In Islamic eschatology, the 12th Imam al-Mahdi is to return to earth and establish the peace of Islam for seven years. His prophet, they claim, is Jesus who will deny Judaism and Christianity and all infidels will be put to death during this seven years. Sound familiar?

Jesus said in Matthew 12:43, When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest, and finding none. Then he says, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he finds it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goes he, and takes with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation." By helping terrorists into power, America is making nations that are worse than the first.

Of inalienable rights and leviathan government

Of inalienable rights and leviathan government

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports in its Career Guide to Industries, 2010-11 Edition that "With about 2.0 million civilian employees, the Federal Government, excluding the Postal Service, is the Nation's largest employer." Additionally, it uses the US Constitution to justify its position: "The Federal Government was established by the Constitution to provide services to the public. While these services vary considerably, all are designed to improve the lives of the United States population, as well as people around the world." Now, according to Bloomberg and the US Census Bureau, total compensation for federal workers averaged $126,369 last year and Washington DC is now the richest place in the nation.

This is no way intended to disparage those who work for the government. The trend, however, of government to continue to grow and create more debt on behalf of taxpayers should be alarming to every freedom-loving American. The encroachment of government on everybody's lives means that with more services, there is more indebtedness--both personally for those who are dependent on the services, and collectively for those paying for them. The Constitutional guarantee of inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is threatened by every dimension of government expansion because more government means more government intrusion and control over these liberties.

At what point does the government begin to replace God as the sole source of needs provision? At what point is God and man's obligation to God no longer perceived by society as a central foundation for a fulfilling life? Communism, in its manifesto, intends to abolish all truth and all religion, supplanting the government for God. It does so by taking control of the citizens through a progressive income tax, abolishing property ownership (ie, if you don't pay your property taxes, the government can seize your property--ultimately, the government owns your property and you are leasing it through your taxes), brainwashing the youth through government schools--get the picture?

America was blessed with a Constitution that limited government through enumerated powers, affording citizens the right to exercise complete religious freedom. God the Provider through man's enterprise. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you"--meaning your needs. The danger in the government being the biggest employer and altering the meaning of the Constitution as justification is the replacement of God in people's lives. Government becomes God. Unfortunately, another communist decree--separation of church and state--has taken root along with government growth. Change is needed, and Christians must lead it, otherwise we all will lose our rights to the great leviathan government.

Upside Down

The world is pretty much upside-down. We have presidential candidates in the United States who profess Christianity, but are unwilling to call a cult a cult. Heaven forbid that a Christian offend anyone with the truth! We have a president who says of communist, Islamist, anti-American protestors, "we understand their struggles and we are on their side." We have politicians who believed the ill-minded idea that they could spend trillions of taxpayer dollars that they didn't have and somehow create enough debt that the nation would prosper. And through it all, we have people who say they are followers of Christ who get angry when these "truths" are pointed out. The world is upside-down.

Just take the so-called "Palestinian" issue as an example. The Arabs and Islam have millions of acres of land and have their own closed societies over a significant portion of the world. They have oil money. Slave money. Drug money. Yet with all their wealth and property, they contend for a small area of land near Jerusalem--a land that has absolutely no true religious or ancestral value to the Islamist. But it has one thing that Muslims are directed to eradicate by their very holy book--Jews. So they are demanding a piece of Jerusalem and most of its surrounding land. Politicians are so caught up in this group think that they believe if they give these terrorists what they want, there will be peace. Upside-down.

Things are just off. This is a point in time of history where a movement of God would be quite noticeable. I am not talking about a crazy, radical, name it claim it, shout it out, a holy being defined as bizarre movement. But a movement of God in each man's heart, soberly, solemnly, joyfully, humble, from one to another. Isaiah 5:20 says, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter." As one might discern, our American society, many cultures, if not most, worldwide suffer woe because evil is called good and good is called evil. Isaiah 5:25: "Therefore is the anger of the Lord kindled against his people." Things are upside-down.

In Acts 17, Paul reasoned with the Jews on three sabbath days, preaching Christ to them "out of the scriptures." Some Jews believed as did a great multitude of Greeks. But the Jews which did not believe organized some thugs, caused an uproar in the city and assaulted the house of Jason, where Paul and Silas were staying. They didn't find Paul and Silas, but they took Jason to the rulers of the city. Verse 6 says, "...crying, These that have turned the wold upside down are come hither also; Whom Jason hath received and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying there is another king, one Jesus." One way, it seems, to try to make things right side up again is to preach the gospel from the scriptures. It worked with Paul and Silas by the unbelievers own admission.

Which "Occupy" do you support?

The Prophetic Land

Which "Occupy" do you support?

"Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes; A heavy progressive or graduated income tax; Abolition of all rights of inheritance; Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels; Centralization of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly; Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the state; Equal obligation of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture; Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan;

"Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country; Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc...There are, besides, eternal truths, such as Freedom, Justice, etc., that are common to all states of society. But communism abolishes eternal truths, it abolishes all religion, and all morality, instead of constituting them on a new basis; it therefore acts in contradiction to all past historical experience." These are the goals of the Communist manifesto written in 1848.

Both the American Nazi Party and the Communist Party USA have now endorsed the Occupy Wall Street movement. The man who occupies the Oval office is embracing the Occupy Wall Street anarchists. White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the president will continue to make certain the "interests of 99 percent of Americans are well represented." 99 percent is the battle cry of Occupy Wall Street. The Washington Post reports that the president "and his team have decided to turn public anger at Wall Street into a central tenet of their reelection strategy." Make no mistake. The president supports the communists. And by the way, the Communist Party USA endorsed the president's candidacy in 2008.

A lot of what is in the Communist Manifesto has already happened in the United States over the years. And the current president is encouraging class warfare--classical communistic revolutionary strategy--to maintain his power. The root of communism is the abolishing of truth, morality and religion. No matter what the facade, anger at Wall Street or abolishing greed, the bottom line is taking away your freedom to worship and replacing God with statist humanism. Jesus said in Luke 19:13, "Occupy till I come." This parable meant that we be actively faithful to the tenets of the Christian faith until his return. So which "Occupy" are you supporting--the one that abolishes man's obligation to God or the one that commands its furtherance?

The truth of the lie

The Occupy Wall Street "movement" is akin to the ACORN group that in their support for the current president broke the law through voter fraud and many other violations. Occupy is the same ilk, only more publicly radical. It is a front group for the president's reelect campaign, espousing socialism and communism, wanting reform by dismantling the American free market system. It is devoid of any concept that inalienable rights are endowed by God and to secure those rights government is instituted, deriving its just power from the consent of the governed. The Occupation Declaration says "it is up to individuals to protect their own rights." This is the recipe for anarchy, the remaking of America.

As the insanestream media says Occupy is similar to the TEA Party and showers them with comparisons to the Founding Fathers, there are a handful that are gaining back some of their sanity. Reuters is finally following the money. These protesters are backed indirectly by communistic, America hating, revolution supporting billionaire George Soros. Reuters reports that Soros gave the leftist Tide Foundation $3.5 million. Tide is a clearing house for liberal non profits. And Tide gave $185,000 to Adbusters, a Canadian anti-capitalism non profit that started the "Occupy" protests in hopes of creating an "Arab Spring" in America. This is just one example of how money flows to undermine America.

The roots of this socialism reach the White House. WorldNetDaily reports that Soros funded economist Joseph Stiglitz, who taught a course to Occupy Wall Street protestors to help them better understand the global financial crisis. Stiglitz is a former chair of the Commission on Global Financial Issues of Socialists International and has lectured on "A New Economic World Order" where he called for a world not dominated by a single superpower. The Nobel Prize winner is an economic advisor to the current president, but has been critical because the stimulus did not go far enough. Stiglitz was also the Chairman of President Bill Clinton's White House Council on Economic Advisors.

Covetousness both from corporations and government has caused great harm to many American citizens. The problem, however, will not be solved by more government, more oppressive government, and by disbanding capitalism in deference to socialism or communism. The absence of God is at the root. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:13, "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men." We have inherited a wonderful gift of freedom from God with this nation. Will our future be determined by how bright our light shines or by the foreboding darkness in the hearts of the Godless?

Islamic Aggression: Repeat of History or Prophetic Destiny?

Islamic Aggression: Repeat of History or Prophetic Destiny?

In 632, at the time of Mohammed's death, orthodox Christianity was the overwhelming majority religion in Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Asia Minor, North Africa, Corsica, Sicily, Sardinia, Italy, France and Spain. Historian Paul Crawford writes in the next 100 years, Islam had conquered all these countries except Italy, the islands and Northern France. He writes, "The Christian communities of Arabia were entirely destroyed in or shortly after 633, when Jews and Christians alike were expelled from the peninsula. Two-thirds of the formerly Roman Christian world was now ruled by Muslims." Is the current 12 year Western Crusade aiding a repeat of history and what does it mean prophetically?

In the Spring 2011 edition of the Intercollegiate Review, Crawford tackles the "Four Myths about the Crusades." He says that the Crusades were not unprovoked, as is taught by history revisionists. Crawford documents that the surviving central secular authority in the Christian world, the Byzantine Empire, along with the popes counter attacked Islam to regain their land and to protect "victimized Christians." These battles, according to Crawford, continued from 633 through 1095 when the First Crusade began under Pope Urban II and Byzantine leaders. The Crusades, Crawford concludes, were the result of Islamic aggression that forced out Christianity and threatened nations and governments.

Fast forward to present day. Aside from the days following the establishment of Israel as a nation in May 1948, the Six Day war in 1967, and the 1972 Yom Kippur War, Islamic aggression experienced an accelerated rebirth with Yassir Arafat and the Islamic/Arab/Russian support of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, a terrorist organization dedicated to the destruction of Israel. It has fully blossomed into an all out assault on Western nations and Israel through Muslim Brotherhood supported terrorism--al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and more. At the same time, terrorist leaders, dressed as diplomats, have played the "peace, peace, Islam is a religion of peace" card.

US forays into Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Gaza, and now Egypt and Libya have done little to defeat terrorism, but rather established Islamist reign through the credibility of democracy. Christians that study Biblical eschatology know the example of Ezekiel 38:2-6, where every nation mentioned coming against Israel in the end time battle is currently Islamic. 2 John 7 says, "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist." Islamic aggression is prophecy on the march. American leadership is accelerating the cadence. Unless We the People act to halt America's involvement, the outcome for our particular nation is bleak.

White House betrayal of Christianity worldwide

In the nation building business in Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Gaza, Libya, and others, one of the stated main objectives of the current and immediate past White House occupants was to establish Constitutional religious freedom and the protection of human rights. It has cost America over $1.2 trillion and more that 6,300 American lives to help Afghanistan and Iraq establish Sharia Law constitutions that contain religious freedom language. America has spent billions more on elections that handed Gaza to terrorists, and assisted in overthrowing governments in Egypt and Libya in the name of human rights and religious freedom The result: genocide, persecution, and destruction of Christians in these nations.

Yes, nearly every constitution approved by these Islamic states has religious freedom requirements. But they are governed by Sharia Law, meaning that people have the freedom to choose Islam, Judaism, or Christianity. But under Sharia there are extreme consequences if Judaism or Christianity are chosen. That America's leadership willfully ignores this very fact is an egregious betrayal of the Christian majority in the United States. The establishment of Sharia in Iraq and Afghanistan signed the death warrant for the Christian Church there. In Egypt, Christians are systematically being persecuted, maimed and killed by the new democratic, yet Sharia-biased, leadership. Libya promises total Sharia.

Muslims in Egypt are killing Coptic Christians, or Egyptian Christians, by the dozens. Believing they were to see true religious freedom after decades of persecution, Coptic Christians (their beliefs are similar to Greek Orthodox and they are among the earliest Christians in Egypt dating back to the first century AD) at first embraced the "democratic" changes. But now they are finding that White House ally the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood have allowed exponentially more persecution by Islamists. Vatican radio reports the Iraqi Christian population has declined from 800,000 to less than 150,000 due to Islamic attacks and religious intolerance. Christians are moving to safe zones in Northern Iraq to avoid persecution.

The State Department's 2010 International Religious Freedom Report says in Afghanistan "There is no longer a public Christian church." Additionally, the report says, the government's level of respect for religious freedom has declined, "particularly for Christian groups and individuals." American blood is being spilled that others have human rights and religious freedom, but our government is supporting the opposite. Isaiah 59:7 says, "Their feet run to evil, and they make hast to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths." Our government is a product of its people. The Christian Church in America must quit playing church and fear God.

One-State White House/CIA strategy: Islam arises, Israel dissolves

One-State White House/CIA strategy: Islam arises, Israel dissolves

The White House is using a March 2009 CIA report strategizing the end of Israel by 2029 to leverage Israel into talks creating a Palestinian state that will eventually dissolve Israel and establish one nation. On behalf of the US president, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta met October 4 with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Panetta delivered the message that the Arab Spring and Islamic Awakening throughout the Middle East combined with Israel's behavior toward the president is causing Israel to become increasingly isolated, just as the CIA report predicted.

Foreign Policy Journal (FPJ) reports that Panetta engaged "in frank discussions which included the White House displeasure at Netanyahu's repeated humiliation of the president over the past 18 months and Israeli threats to cut off Jewish aid to Obama's 2012 re-election campaign." The reports from Panetta's visit undoubtedly underscore the 2009 CIA strategic overview for a one-state solution to peace between Israel and Arab Islamists known as the Palestinian Authority. FPJ reports that it was Panetta's first day on the job as CIA director when he signed off on the CIA report. The report said that there would be hundreds of thousands of Jews immigrating to the US as a result of a one-state solution.

Revealed by Press TV on March 15, 2009, The CIA report suggested "an inexorable movement away from a two-state to a one-state solution, as the most viable model based on democratic principles of full equality that sheds the looming specter of colonial Apartheid while allowing for the return of the 1947/1948 and 1967 refugees. The latter being the precondition for sustainable peace in the region." This White House has been intimately involved in supporting the Arab Spring/Islamic Awakening movement with diplomatic and military assistance. These actions now appear to be part of an overarching strategy to isolate Israel and pressure it to accepting a Palestinian state on Islamic terms.

From a Biblical world view, this White House is courting disaster for America. There are many prophecies in the Bible about the treatment of Israel by other nations. As early as Genesis 12:3, the Lord says that He will "bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee." A latter day prophecy found in Zechariah 12:3 says, "And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces." There are many more such prophecies. This Administration appears to be willfully and strategically creating a hostile environment for Israel. It is the Islamists who wish to drive Israel into the sea, and this White House is accelerating their desire. Not good.

Fast and Furious: The link between DOJ, Drug Cartels and the Palestinian Authority

Fast and Furious: The link between DOJ, Drug Cartels and the Palestinian Authority
Americans don't seem to be so fired up about Operation Gunrunner and Fast and Furious, but they should be. The federal government authorized the selling of assault weapons and other guns to Mexican Drug cartel operatives. This willful assault on American citizens violates the Constitution's preamble charging government to "provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare and secure the Blessings of Liberty." The Fast and Furious strategy knowingly and willfully armed dangerous lawbreakers and enemies of America. Amid reports that Islam and the cartel are working together, the unthinkable question is: Is this White House purposely working against America and her traditional allies?
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Mexican police seized dozens of high powered assault weapons from a drug cartel boss's home in Ciudad Juarez, the city with the worst violence in the Mexican drug wars. These weapons were purchased through the Justice Department's Fast and Furious program. Hundreds of such weapons are being found, many are used in crimes across US border states, and one known US agent was murdered with one of these weapons. Attorney General Eric Holder has denied to Congress any knowledge of this operation, however, he introduced it to a joint US/Mexico Arms Trafficking Conference in Cuernavaca, Mexico on April 2, 2009.
The Justice Department's National Drug Intelligence Center reported in 2007 that Islamic groups were working with the Central and South American drug cartels to sell drugs and buy weapons in support of terrorism. The report mentioned a dealer who "brokered international multimillion dollar arms deals for Yemen, Kuwait, Syria, Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, and Colombia and has supported several Middle Eastern terrorist groups including the Palestine Liberation Front, the Palestine Liberation Organization, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine." The PLO and the PLF are integral arms of the Palestinian Authority, which is America's dressed up governing body for a Palestinian State in Israel.
Connecting the dots: The Department of Justice had tremendous documentation and foreknowledge that Islamic terrorist organizations were dealing drugs and weapons with the cartels south of the border. These weapons were being used against Israel and by al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah and others in fomenting terrorism. Yet, under the current Administration, the Justice Department elected to purposely sell assault rifles to drug cartels in some nonsensical scheme to trace the weapons. The result: endangering Americans, an American citizen murdered, aiding and abetting terrorists against Israel and America. Jeremiah 17:9 asks, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Is this the case at the heart of America's government? And should Americans be furious, fast?

Choosing our prophetic destiny as a people and a nation

The Wall Street Journal reports that in the first quarter of 2010 nearly half of the population of the United States, 48.5%, lived in a household that received some sort of government aid. Census data indicated that over 34% received food stamps, subsidized housing, cash welfare or Medicaid. Some 30% of households received either Medicare or Social Security. The Tax Policy Center reports 46.4% of households will pay no income tax this year. The Treasury Department reports that under this current president, personal indebtedness to the federal government has increased by $35,835 per household to to $44,980 for every full-time private sector worker. The country is imploding and the casualties are the American citizenry.

People can blame whatever political party they choose. Both had a hand in this debacle. There is no sense in the concept of spending hard earned taxpayer dollars to create huge debt betting on economic prosperity. Unless, of course, the intent is to make people so dependent on government that the government can then dictate how the people vote and how they live their lives. Freedom has a price. And in this case, so does tyranny. These leaders cunningly trapped Americans into paying for their own tyranny. Socialism and communism require no allegiance to a god that would supersede the government. Americans resisted for 234 years, but tyranny has landed in America, and we paid for it with our own money.

An ancient quote has become true in today's America: "When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." The Apostle Paul warned in 2 Timothy 3:1-7, "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." Self-centeredness is ending our freedom.

Christian Americans are supposed to know freedom. It is found in Jesus Christ. We serve a God of freedom. When Christians became too involved with themselves, the church in chasing after them also became self indulgent, abandoning its mission and acquiescing its social duty to the government. Now, like the Israelites before us, we have turned our backs on the God who set us free and stand on the precipice of tyranny. Strange and silly doctrines, self indulgent behavior, denial of scripture, and disobedience are the vehicles we ride into our captivity. The Lord's grace provides us many chances. These days we as a people and a nation are choosing our prophetic destiny, will it be tyranny or freedom?

Contemporary free speech and its consequences

Its ironic that ESPN would boot Hank Williams Jr from the opening song of Monday Night Football for speaking his mind. The song "All my rowdy friends" was yanked from the air after 20 years because of remarks Williams made on "Fox and Friends." Williams told anchor Brian Kilmeade, according to ESPN, that he thought Speaker of the House John Boehner playing golf with the president "would be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu...In the shape this country is in?" Kilmeade said he didn't understand the analogy. Williams replied, "I'm glad you don't, brother, because a lot of people do. They're the enemy."

Anchor Gretchen Carlson reminded Williams that he used the name of one of history's most hated men to describe the president. Williams replied, "Well that's true. But I'm telling you like it is." Williams later issued this statement through his publicist: "Some of us have strong opinions and are often misunderstood. My analogy was extreme -- but it was to make a point. I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me -- how ludicrous that pairing was. They're polar opposites and it made no sense. They don't see eye-to-eye and never will. I have always respected the office of the president." Seems like there is a lot of clarification going on these days between what people mean and what they say.

People usually say what they mean the first time around. There are many ways we as Americans can take the actions of ESPN. One is that while people have a right to free speech and to say what is on their mind, there often will be consequences to their words. Words have meaning and if the powers that be do not like what you say, they may take action against you. Williams was well within his rights to say what he wanted about the politicians. And ESPN didn't want to leave the impression that Williams spoke for the network, so they dropped him. Not unlike what the networks did with Jimmy the Greek and even Howard Cosell when they made what was considered racial remarks.

Jesus said in Matthew 12:34, "for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." I find it strange, however, that the news media does not seem to mind when leftists like Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, the president, and others call law abiding Americans--the people they were voted to represent--racists, barbarians, terrorists or the same as Hitler or bin Laden. They are still invited to throw out the first pitch at the baseball games or stand at midfield during the toss of the coin at football games. Williams was saying that Boehner and the president were political enemies, like Hitler and Netanyahu would be. Sure the comparison was extreme, but it is far less than politicians calling their fellow Americans even worse--for out of the abundance of the heart...

The prophetic implications of the emerging global depression

The world is being led toward a great economic recession, if not a depression. The contemporary "group think" is to use government authority to spend economies into prosperity. The tremendous debt burden created by these governments is ultimately held by the citizens. Citizens will be unable to reconcile this enormous and historical debt, making them subject to their respective governments who created the debt. Meanwhile, the economies will not improve, inflation will escalate, jobs will be scarce, available money will be in short supply. Governments will again step in and take control over people and business. This is type and shadow of end time prophecy.

Those not going along with the spending to prosperity theory chastised heavily by the rest of the world leaders, including the White House and the European Union. For example, Germany is holding strong to enforcing a Gold Standard outcome. This has been called fallacious and malignant by Charles Dumas of London-based Lombard Street Research, a company that leaders listen to, according to Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, International Business Editor for the UK Telegraph. Evans-Pritchard says that as a result of the debt financing and the subsequent fall out, "The rules of world trade system would be redrawn." He says he sympathizes with hard working citizens "for being led into this impasse by foolish elites."

The problem here is that the godless are in control of the world economy. There have been ideas raised that even in America, there could ultimately be enough civil unrest caused by the bad economic trend to call for Marshall law suspension of elections. The group protesting on Wall Street would give some credence to this, but--and this is big--its not the TEA Party conservatives who are protesting. Reading the signs and hearing the chants, its the "end capitalism" socialists and anarchists who are taking to the streets. Its almost as if the socialists in charge, the godless humanists, are encouraging their own to protest to create crisis and turmoil. There is nothing new under the sun.

Prophetically speaking, these are the events that must happen according to the scriptures. Revelation 6:5,6 describes the Black horse, one of the four horses of the Apocalypse, as creating economic crisis. The rider of the Black horse had "a pair of of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny and three measures of barley for a penny..." Eventually, the antichrist rises to power in Revelation 13:17 "that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." By nature, nations do not agree to submit to one another unless they are forced to do so. Worldwide debt and recession might create that atmosphere of crisis.
