A Word about discernment--carefully read

The God of the Bible is YHWH (Yaweh) and God incarnate on earth, who was born of a virgin, crucified and risen that those who believe on him would have eternal salvation is YHSWH (Yeshuah, Jesus, the Christ). The Bible is the testament of God, that points to Christ Jesus, even as believers in Jesus have been sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within them and guide them. This comprises what is called the Holy Trinity or the Triune of God. There is only one, and the way we know this is through the Holy Scriptures, the Bible. Neither God, nor Jesus, nor the Holy Spirit will lead believers apart from the Word of God. The Bible is the cornerstone, the building, and the domain that contains God's way to mankind.

Jesus warned in Matthew 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." He said you will know them by their actions. If their actions are outside the context of God's Word, they are false. The Apostle Paul constantly warned the early church against those who taught false doctrines in the name of Christ Jesus. He wrote in Ephesians 4:14, "That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive." Paul spent an entire chapter in II Corinthians regarding those coming in the name of Christ Jesus who are deceivers.

2 Corinthians 11:3,4 says, "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preaches another Jesus, who we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him (he that is deceiving)." Paul goes on to say in verse 13, "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." Paul was correcting the Corinthians in love. We must also be able to discern, identify and correct in love.

Some are easy to recognize--Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Oprah's New Age Jesus. Others are more deceptive because they claim to believe in the true Jesus Christ. But if they are teaching things that are not in the Bible, but using specific verses in the Bible that are out of context to justify their positions, your discernment is needed. Those claiming revelation knowledge outside of scriptures, prophecies beyond scripture or are not confirmed by scriptures, declarations and doctrines not found in scriptures, extra-Biblical concepts, being guided by angels, strange supernatural occurrences that are not found in the Scriptures, etc. These may well be a new age religion wearing a mask of Jesus. Beware of them.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
