The deeper meaning of US leaving Iraq

The announcement that the United States would pull all of its troops out of Iraq by year's end seemed to be a surprise announcement from the White House. There were debates throughout the summer between the US and Iraq over troop presence in the country. Finally, there was an impasse over the demand that US troops must be exempt from Iraqi law if they were to stay. The Iraq government would not budge, demanding that America's servicemen and women be subject to Iraqi law. Bottom line, with negotiations at an impasse, the president announced that aside from the troops needed to protect the American embassy, America was pulling out by the end of the year. But, as usual, there is more to the story.

According to an article in the Vancouver Sun, neither the president nor the vice president had any contact with the Iraqi Prime minister for nearly a year. Logs released by the US Embassy in Baghdad indicate that there was no contact by the US president since February 13 and the last contact by the vice president was January 18. All the while this deal regarding the American troops in Iraq was looming, with military advisors saying there is a need for agreement that American strategic interests would be served in this volatile region, the man who occupies the Oval Office didn't pick up the phone to call his Iraqi counterpart.

While troops coming home from Iraq is a relief to many Americans, how the process is managed is likely of concern to every American. Iran has had Iraq in its crosshairs for more than two decades. Iran was supplying weapons and commandos to fight against American troops there. America has invested billions over the past decade as well as nearly 4,500 US soldiers killed and well over 33,000 wounded. To pull out without a plan risks Iraq at the hands of Iran and having spilled American blood in vain. It would seem that the effort would warrant more than a phone call by the president to the Prime Minister saying we are pulling up stakes and leaving by the end of the year.

There are many scenarios that could be read into these unusual actions by the president. From a prophetic point of view, watchmen see that Arab Spring is not about democracy, but rather using democracy as the mask to establish Islam and Sharia law. Mask removed, Sharia is the standard bearer for law and justice and Islam is the official religion. This is true in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and even in Gaza. This means that the enemies of Israel are further encroaching on Israel as legitimized by democracy and in the name of peace. An abrupt US pull out of Iraq signals to Iran that the nation is up for grabs, further advancing Islam and Sharia. Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Deception is in the Arab Spring air.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
