Different Suits, same designer--Nothings changed in Washington
Notwithstanding all the politicians remarks since, the message they sent during the State of the Union was clear: The people of America spoke with one voice in November and nobody really got the message. First, those who were newly elected allowed themselves to be bamboozled into dispersing by sitting with all their political opposites. This was done in the spirit of unity, but to those who watched the address, it seemed that the entire Congress was supporting the smooth talking of a president who wants to appear more conservative, but is even more tax and spend than he was before the elections. That said, the so-called spirit of cooperation is the mirror of delusion cast back at a well intended electorate.
It is business as unusual in Washington, DC. The man delivering the address was at the top of his game, relaxed, composed and powerful. And he relented not one iota of compromise toward his big, powerful government agenda. And those in Congress who were put there by an America crying out for common sense, applauded him and gave the impression that they were going to work in compromising their agenda for the sake of unity. This nation needs unity only if it is unified to bring the tenets of morals, ethics, and stewardship into a government that has lost its bearing on all. But considering the response, there is little hope outside of God's hand of mercy.
Since, they have passed on. I grew up with men like Bob Harris, Warren McCarthy and Gene Flynn. Bob served in the Philippines in World War II. He didn't speak of the atrocities he saw during the day, but he had terrors during the night. He made the best of his life. Warren and Gene were on the beaches at D-Day in Normandy. They were decorated war heros who fought to ensure we all are free today. They didn't talk much about the experience of surviving German machine guns raining lead on them as they valiantly fought for our nation. Who could tell them that a president of the United States would stand before the country and joyously proclaim that homosexuals could now openly serve in the military?
Or what of the silence of the 50 million? They cannot say that they would like the same opportunity to live in America as do illegal aliens and the children of illegals. They cannot say that they, too, would like the challenge to grow up, get an education, and contribute to America by having a job or starting a business. They were not given the chance. They were murdered in their mother's womb with the same policies that encourage such under this president. The Lord said in Ezekiel 22:30, "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none." Let us pray for those who would stand as such. Let us be one such.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
