Look at what we have become; what shall become of us?

The Federal Reserve has joined the Bank of England, the European Central Bank, the Swiss National Bank and the bank of Japan to flood money markets with dollars over the coming months to stimulate the European economy. US and world stock markets have been on the wane ostensibly because of the European debt crisis. The smart men and women running the American banking system have one answer--print more money, create more debt. In doing so, Americans should brace for runaway inflation, more debt related problems and an economy in America that will resemble a great recession, if not a depression.

My dad always used to say, "You get what you pay for." This is so true. Right now, the White House is encouraging the spending of dollars, the creating of debt, and the bail out of Europe's economy, while our own economy is in a tailspin. We did not hire our president to be the world's banker, but your hard earned tax money is being invested in bad business. If you pay for debt, you will get debt. My dad also used to say, "If you dance all night, you have to pay the fiddler in the morning." Here again, the American government is spending your money so fast and furious that there is none left to pay the debt. Then you will be enslaved by a government that is supposed to serve you.

Take an inventory of what all the debt is buying us. First and foremost, every man, woman and child in the United States (except illegal immigrants) owe the government over $46,000 for its debt. People continue losing their jobs. Unemployment claims rose another 11,000 last week, far greater than the government expected. And while people are losing their jobs, or can't find work, food prices made their biggest increase since March, and gas at the pumps went up 1.2 percent. Clothing prices also jump a percent. Home foreclosure notices increased 33% in August over July. Government management of the economy and its unbridled spending is causing all of this.

But what is the root cause? In my opinion, the root cause is the massive exodus of Americans from the ways of God. Deuteronomy 28:1 says, "And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth" Verse 15 says, however, that if God's people do not obey the Lord, "all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee." Even in many of our churches, the word of God is not being taught. How can we expect blessings when our actions as a nation bring curses? Look at what we have become. What shall become of us?

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
